Dachshund - "Ollie"
Pet Portrait, Dog Pastel, 12 x 16 inches
The Dachshund, often referred to as the "frankfurter dog," has a long body and short legs. It was originally bred in Germany to hunt badgers, digging into their burrows to extract them. Dachshunds still love to dig. They are good house dogs, better with older children than younger, sometimes mischievous or quick to bite, and a little difficult to train. They have a loud bark for their size, and like to use it.
