The Shih-Tzu is a small, lively dog, courageous and at times stubborn. They like to bark, and make good watchdogs. Shih-Tzus are fine with children as long as they are not treated roughly, but they can snap. They are usually good with other pets. Because of their long hair Shih-Tzus need more grooming than shorter-haired breeds.
